KADIN TEKERLEKLİ SANDALYE BASKETBOLCULARINDA FONKSİYONEL BAĞIMSIZLIK, YAŞAM KALİTESİ VE TEKERLEKLİ SANDALYE BECERİLERİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Amaç: Kadın tekerlekli sandalye basketbol (TSB) sporcularının fonksiyonel bağımsızlıkları, günlük yaşamda tekerlekli sandalye becerileri ve yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişkinin araştırılmasıydı.
Yöntem: Türkiye Bedensel Engelliler Spor Federasyonuna bağlı spor kulüplerinde yer alan kadın sporcular bu çalışmaya katıldı. Türkiye Kadınlar TSB şampiyonası (2015), TSB Kadın U25 Milli Takım Kampı (2016) ve 2015-2016 sezonunda Tekerlekli Sandalye Basketbol Süper Lig’ de yer alan tüm kadın sporcular çalışmaya dahil edildi. Toplam 40 kadın sporcu değerlendirildi. Sporcuların demografik bilgileri, klasifikasyon puanları sorgulandıktan sonra Notthingham Sağlık Profili (NHP),
Fonksiyonel Bağımsızlık Ölçeği (FIM) ve Tekerlekli Sandalye Beceri Testi Formu (TSBT_F) version 4.2 uygulandı.
Sonuçlar: Çalışmamızda yer alan sporcuların yaş ortalaması 27,32±8,40 yıl; vücut kütle indeksi (VKİ) ortalaması ise, 22,18±3,48 kg/m2 idi. NHP ile VKİ ve FIM ile klasifikasyon puanları arasında zayıf-orta düzeyde pozitif yönde ilişki bulundu (sırasıyla, r=0,394, p=0,012; r= 0,582, p<0,001). Kadın TSB sporcularının günlük yaşamdaki tekerlekli sandalye becerisi oranları göre en çok zorlanılan becerilerin, 15 cm çukur geçme, 15 cm yükseklik çıkma, 30 sn sabit tekerlek, sabit tekerlek ile 180° dönme ve merdiven çıkma-inme olduğu belirlendi.
Tartışma: Kadın sporcular ile çalışan sağlık profesyonelleri, antrenörler ve araştırmacılar tarafından sporcuların performansına etki edebilecek etkenleri saptamada yaşam kalitesi, VKİ, fonksiyonel bağımsızlık gibi faktörler değerlendirmeler arasında olmalıdır. Kadın TSB sporcularının günlük yaşamdaki tekerlekli sandalye kullanım becerilerinin geliştirilmesine ihtiyaç vardır.
