Abstract

Akreplerin yeryüzündeki varlığının 420 milyon yıl öncesine dayandığı fosillerden anlaşılmaktadır 1 . Bu dönemlerde yaşamış yengeç görünümünde ve yaklaşık boyları iki metre kadar olan deniz hayvanı merostomata’dan köken aldığı, karaya çıkışlarının ise siliuarrian döneminde olduğu bilinmektedir 2 . Akrepler genellikle tropikal ve subtropikal iklim kuşaklarında yaygın olmakla birlikte, seyahat araçlarıyla Yeni Zellanda ve Okyanus adaları hariç tüm dünyaya yayılıp yerleşmişlerdir 3,4 .
