Abstract

In this study, cotton fabric samples were dyed by conventional method with natural dye obtained from gallnut after pre-mordanted with different mordant substance. Within the scope of the study, tin chloride (SnCl₂), iron III chloride (FeCl3), potassium aluminum sulfate (KAl(SO₄)₂ 12H₂O), potassium aluminum sulfate + iron III chloride, and potassium aluminum sulfate + iron III chloride + ascorbic acid (C6H8O6) was used, and the effect of these mordant substances on the color and fastness properties of dyeing was investigated. Different colors were obtained in the samples by using different mordant substances. In addition, it was concluded that the mordant substance type was not very effective on the washing, rubbing and light fastness values of the samples and the fastness values of the samples were high. According to the results, sustainable, ecological, and non-toxic natural dyestuff obtained from gallnut can be used as an alternative to synthetic dyes in dyeing textile materials.

MEŞE PALAMUDUNDAN ELDE EDİLEN DOĞAL BOYARMADDE İLE PAMUK KUMAŞIN BOYANMASINA FARKLI MORDAN MADDELERİN ETKİSİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI
