Journal of Turkısh Administration

    The starting year of the publishing services of the Ministry of Interior is considered as 1928. Because the oldest publications that can be identified belong to that year. After the proclamation of the Republic, the modernization movements initiated by Atatürk were welcomed with enthusiasm throughout the country, and the effect of these changes and innovations was felt in the Ministry of Interior, as in every institution. While identifying the needs to ensure that services can be delivered more quickly, effectively, and efficiently, it has also become clear that it is necessary to enhance staff knowledge and expertise, keep them informed of developments in their fields, and, in particular, establish a link between the central office and regional offices.
For these reasons, the Journal of Turkish Administration—which first began its publication life in April 1928 under the name 'İdare' (Administration) as the 'Monthly Journal of the Ministry of Interior' in the former script—has reached the present day as the Ministry of Interior's most significant publication activity, despite two brief interruptions throughout its history.

   The first six issues of the journal were printed in Ottoman Turkish; however, following the adoption of the new alphabet, it began to be published in the new script and has since undertaken a vital mission in Turkish public administration. The enduring longevity of the Journal of Turkish Administration is not merely a professional success story; it is a testament to its role in filling a significant void in Turkish public administration and its vibrant witness to the historical process. Consequently, the manuscripts published throughout the journal's history, the contributing authors, the sections organized under various headings, as well as the supplements and special editions produced on significant subjects, have consistently served as subjects for various examinations. 

   The journal, which fulfills important functions such as enhancing the knowledge and skills of Ministry staff to enable them to perform their duties more effectively, expanding their general and professional expertise, and keeping them informed of internal and external developments in public administration, has become a vital resource not only for Ministry staff but also for public administrators, academics, students studying public administration and public law, and researchers from all sectors of society.
