Article Retraction and Correction Article Process

Retraction and Correction Policy
In accordance with its publication policies, the Turkish Journal of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (TUAV) outlines the responsibilities of authors and the editorial board during the retraction or correction of a manuscript or published article as follows:

Authors
If the author(s) identify an error in their published, early view, or under-review manuscript, they are obliged to cooperate with the journal editor in initiating the retraction or correction process. Authors requesting to retract a manuscript under review must fill out the “Article Retraction and Correction Request Form”, sign it with wet signatures from all authors, scan it, and send it via email to the editor or technical coordinator of the journal.

The editorial board will review the retraction request and respond within 15 days.

Unless the copyright transfer submitted during the initial submission has been officially revoked by the TUAV Editorial Board, authors are not allowed to submit the manuscript to another journal for review.

Editors
The Editorial Board of TUAV is responsible for launching an investigation in cases where there is a suspicion of plagiarism or copyright infringement in a published, early view, or under-review manuscript.

If the board determines that plagiarism or copyright violations are present in a manuscript under review, the article will be withdrawn from the review process and returned to the authors with detailed references and documentation of the violations.

If the violation is identified in a published or early view article, the editorial board will notify the authors within 15 days and implement the following retraction and correction procedures in the next available issue of the journal:

  1. The label “Retracted:” will be added at the beginning of the article title in the electronic version.
  2. The abstract and full text will be replaced with a detailed retraction statement, including supporting evidence, relevant sources, and, if applicable, statements from the authors' affiliated institutions.
  3. A retraction notice will be announced on the journal’s homepage.
  4. The first upcoming issue will include the retraction title in the table of contents as “Retracted: [Article Title]” and a full explanation starting from the first page to inform the public and the research community.
  5. The authors' affiliated institutions will be notified with a copy of the retraction notice.
  6. The retraction notices will be forwarded to indexing databases, repositories, and the National Library of Turkey for catalog registration and indexing.

Additionally, the editorial board may inform other publishers or editorial boards of the authors’ previous publications, recommending a review for validity and integrity, or suggest retraction if necessary.

  • For correction requests, the author(s) must submit a detailed explanation of the changes requested, along with justifications, to the editorial board.
  • If the correction request is accepted, the revised version will be published in the first upcoming issue under the “Correction Notice” section after completing all necessary procedures.
