HALAL LOGISTICS APPLICATIONS IN TURKEY: A CASE STUDY

Year 2017, Volume: 5 Issue: 5, 159 - 174, 01.07.2017

Abstract

According to the researches made in 2016, the importance of halal trade market which value is exceeding the 850 billion dollars will increase with the arrival of the Muslim population approximately 2.2 billion people 26% of the world population in 2030. The increase in demand for halal products on the world makes a necessity to add halal logistics service into logistics services served by logistics companies. According to the current literature, the concept of logistics innovation is defined as all of the innovative and useful logistics services designed to meet the demands of a specific customer group. Halal logistics that emerged in recent years and serves the needs of the Muslim community is regarded as a logistics innovation indeed. It is observed that the studies about halal commerce in the international literature have increased rapidly, unfortunately in the national literature there is an important gap both theoretical and empirical studies about halal logistics and related subjects. Therefore, the aim of this study is to contribute to the literature by examining halal logistics practices in Turkey. In this study, the data obtained from logistics companies with halal logistics certificate were evaluated by using case study method. The study has been concluded with the findings of the study, recommendations for the sector and guidelines for future researches

TÜRKİYE’DE HELAL LOJİSTİK UYGULAMALARI: BİR VAKA ANALİZİ

Year 2017, Volume: 5 Issue: 5, 159 - 174, 01.07.2017
