İşitme yetersizliği olan çocuklarda dil ve okuduğunu anlama becerileri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Okul öncesi yıllarda geliştirilen dil ve okuryazarlık becerileri, sonraki okul başarısının temelini oluşturur. Okuma ve yazma başlı başına bir deneyim ve kişisel bir eylemdir. Bir kişinin okuma ve yazma sürecindeki deneyimleri, genellikle sonraki deneyimlerini etkileyip geliştirir. Çocuk, okuma ve yazmaya ilişkin deneyimlerin bazılarını ailesi ve yakın çevresiyle günlük yaşamında farkında olmadan, kendiliğinden edinir. İşitme kaybının, ne zaman ortaya çıktığı ve ne zaman teşhis edildiği çok önemlidir. İşitme kaybı doğuştan olabileceği gibi sonradan da meydana gelebilir. İşitme kayıplı çocuklar okuma ve okuduğunu anlama becerilerinde tipik gelişim gösteren çocukların gerisinde kalmaktadır. Bireye uygun erken müdahale ile işitme kayıplı çocuklar dil becerilerini geliştirebilir. Dil gelişimi okuduğunu anlama becerisinin önemli bir yordayıcısıdır.
