Abstract

This book review examines Ayşe Parla's "Fragile Hope: Migration and the Limits of Belonging in Türkiye". Abstract

Bu kitap incelemesi, Ayşe Parla tarafından kaleme alınan Kırılgan Umut: Türkiye'de Göç ve Aidiyetin Sınırları adlı eseri ele almaktadır. Kitap, siyaset sosyolojisi çerçevesinde 1989 sonrası yaşanan göçe odaklanmakta ve eşsiz etnografik saha çalışmaları yardımıyla bu alandaki mevcut literatüre kapsamlı bir katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Eser, teorik tartışmaları tarihsel ve kavramsal bir perspektifle ele alırken, yazarın geliştirdiği argümanlar ve bunlara sunduğu kanıtlar tutarlı bir çerçeve içerisinde sunulmaktadır. Bu inceleme, kitabın temel argümanlarını özetlemenin yanı sıra, kullanılan yaklaşımı ve metodolojik tercihleri eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla değerlendirmektedir. Ayrıca çalışmanın güçlü yönleri ile muhtemel eksiklikleri tartışılarak, kitabın akademik literatürdeki yeri ve hangi okur kitlesi için anlamlı olduğu ortaya konulmaktadır. Bu bağlamda inceleme, eserin siyaset sosyolojisi alanında çalışan araştırmacılar ve öğrenciler için taşıdığı önemi vurgulamaktadır.
