Behçet disease is prevalent in men during the third decade of life, and renal, neurological, gastrointestinal, cardiac, and pulmonary changes are less common. Renal disorders include artery stenosis, renal venous thrombosis, hematuria, proteinuria, glomerulonephritis, amyloidosis, renovascular hypertension, and end-stage renal disease. More rarely, Behçet disease may be coexistent with IgA nephropathy and arterial hypertension in pediatric cases. The aim is to comment on novel literature data highlighting an article published in this journal to enhance suspicion index for early diagnosis and prompt intervention, and organ-specific treatments for conditions presenting multisystem involvement to reduce morbimortality.
