The Influences of Arctic & North Atlantic Oscillations on Temperature and Precipitation Data of Eastern and Northern Marmara

Abstract

Arktik Salınım (AO) ve Kuzey Atlantik Salınımı (NAO) özellikle Kuzey Yarımküre’de
etki alanına sahip olan tele bağlantılardan iki tanesidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı,
AO ve NAO ile Türkiye’de Marmara Bölgesi’nin sıcaklık  ve yağış rejimi arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya
koymak ve AO ve NAO’nun etkilerinin kıyaslanmasıdır. Bu bağlamda, ilk olarak
AO, NAO ve sıcaklık, yağış arasındaki korelasyon katsayıları hesaplanmıştır.
Buna gore, AO ve sıcaklık verisi arasında kış ve sonbahar mevsimlerinde önemli
negatif korelasyonlar elde edilmişken, diğer mevsimlerde korelasyonlar çok
düşüktür. Buna ilave olarak, AO ve yağış arasındaki en önemli ilişki kış
mevsiminde ve kısmen yıllık olarak bulunmuştur. NAO ve sıcaklık arasındaki
ilişkide ise, en önemli korelasyonlar yaz mevsiminde ve kısmen ilkbaharda
görülmüştür. Ayrıca, NAO ve yağış arasındaki ilişki Marmara Bölgesi’nin
genelinde değişkenlik göstermektedir. Yıllık olarak, negatif korelasyonlar
bölgenin büyük bir kısmında önemlidir. Kış ve sonbahar mevsimlerinde ise
korelasyonlar sırasıyla Trakya’da ve Doğu Marmara’da önemlidir. Son olarak,
sıcaklık ve yağış farkları AO ve NAO’nun negatif fazları göz önüne alınarak
hesaplanmıştır. Sıcaklık verisi için AO (-), NAO (-) etkisi altındaki sıcaklık
değerlerinin, AO (+), NAO (+) etkisi altındaki sıcaklık değerlerinden
genellikle daha fazla olduğu fark edilmiştir. Fakat yağış verisi ve atmosferik
indislerin fazları arasındaki ilişkinin daha karmaşık olduğu görülmüştür.
