Abstract

This studyis atranslation ofthe“Evidence-based librarianship Down Under: improving a nation's resource-sharing” section inthe bookheaded"Evidence-based Librarianship:Case Studies and ActiveLearning Exercises."Roxanne Missingham, the author ofthesection inquestion,is a librarianwith aworkexperience in theAustralian Parliament andthe NationalLibrary,who alsohastheresponsibilitiesof thevice-presidency of theAustralian LibraryandInformationAssociationat the sametime. In general, thebook emphasizes theknowledge andevidence gainedinthe development of library servicesas a result of a combinationof usercollecteddata, librarians' experiences, scientific, professionalresearchandobservations, and activelearning practicesthatencourage critical thinking through case-based case studies. Thepurpose of thespecificallytranslatedsection is to present an assessment of thedevelopmentofcountrywideresource sharingthrough a national benchmarking study inAustraliaon thesubject andanevaluationof theimpact from an evidence-basedlibrarianshipapproach using a survey anddata from libraries in 2006.It is hopedthatit will bothshed light on the application fieldof similar works andprovide a contribution tothe Turkishliterature

Avustralya’da Kanıta Dayalı Kütüphanecilik: Bir Ulusun Kaynak Paylaşımını Geliştirmek

Abstract

Bu çalışma, “Evidence-based Librarianship: case studies and active learning exercises” Kanıta Dayalı Kütüphanecilik: vaka çalışmaları ve aktif öğrenme alıştırmaları başlıklı kitap içerisinde yer alan “Evidence-based librarianship Down Under: improving a nation’s resource-sharing” Avustralya’da kanıta dayalı kütüphanecilik: bir ulusun kaynak paylaşımını geliştirmek adlı bölümün çevirisidir. Söz konusu bölümün yazarı Roxanne Missingham, Avustralya Parlamentosu ve Ulusal Kütüphanesi’nde iş deneyimleri olan ve aynı zamanda Avustralya Kütüphane ve Bilgi Derneği’nin başkan yardımcılığı sorumluluklarını da almış bulunan bir kütüphanecidir. Genel olarak, kitapta, kütüphane hizmetlerinin geliştirilmesinde, kullanıcılardan toplanan veriler, kütüphanecilerin deneyimleri, bilimsel, mesleki araştırma ve gözlemlerin bir kombinasyonu sonucunda elde edilen bilgi ve kanıtların önemi vurgulanmakta ve konuya ilişkin vaka incelemeleri ile eleştirel düşünmeyi teşvik eden aktif öğrenme alıştırmalarına yer verilmektedir. Özel olarak çevirisi yapılan bölümün amacı ise Avustralya’da konu bağlamında ulusal bir karşılaştırmalı çalışma aracılığıyla oluşturulan ülke çapındaki kaynak paylaşımının gelişimini ve 2006 yılında kütüphanelere uygulanan bir anket ile kanıta dayalı kütüphanecilik yaklaşımının etkisine ilişkin bir değerlendirmeyi sunmaktır. Gerek benzeri çalışmalara uygulama alanında ışık tutması gerekse Türkçe alan yazınına katkı sağlaması umut edilmektedir.
