Abstract

Bu çalışma çerçevesinde amacımız, Türk edebiyatında belâgata dâir kısamalûmattan sonra Ahmed Hamdî Efendi ve “Belâgat-ı Lisân-ı úOsmânî”adlı eseri hakkında bilgiler sunmaktır. Batılı usullerde yeni okulların açılmasıylayeterince Arapça bilmeyen öğrencilere Türkçe belâgat kitabı yazılmasıihtiyacı hâsıl olur. Yaygın ve yanlış kanaat, bu dönemde yazılmış ilkTürkçe örnekli klâsik belâgat kitabının Ahmed Cevdet Paşa’nın Belâgat-ıOsmâniyye’si olduğudur. Bu eser 1881-82 tarihlidir. Ahmed Hamdî’ninBelâgat-ı Lisân-ı Osmânî’si ise 1876 tarihlidir. Bölümlerini incelediğimizdegörülür ki eser klâsik belâgat geleneğine dâhildir. Bu eser hem Türkçeörnekler vermesi hem de Tanzimat’tan sonra yazılmış ilk ve tam belâgatkitabı olması bakımından dikkat çekicidir.

Abstract

This paper aims at giving information about belâgat in Turkish Literature andAhmed Hamdi’s book called ‘Belâgat-ı Lisân-ı ‘Osmânî’. When new schools areopened in western system there was need of writing Turkish belâgat books for studentswho don’t know Arabic. It is a common but wrong information that the first classicalbelâgat book which had Turkish examples is Ahmed Cevdet Paşa’s Belâgat-ıOsmâniyye. İt is dated back to 188-82. However Ahmed Hamdî’s book dates 1876and it was written in the classical belâgat tradition. This book has importance becauseof giving Turkish examples and it is the first and complete belâgat book written after theTanzimat.
