Abstract

Girit Milli Meclisi'nin Yunan Kralı adına yemin edilmek suretiyle açıl-ması Nisan 1910 , Osmanlı vilâyetlerinde protesto ve akabinde Yunan mallarına karşı boykot uygulanmasına sebep oldu. Bu makalenin giriş kıs-mında Girit meselesinin başlangıcından itibaren 1910 yılına kadar gelişim süreci özetlendi. Ardından boykotun nerelerde ve nasıl uygulandığı, Osmanlı Hükûmetinin boykota yaklaşımı, Avrupa devletlerinin boykota tepkileri ele alındı. Sonuç kısmında ise boykotun etkileri ve sonuçları üzerinde değerlen-dirmeler yapıldı ve elde edilen bilgiler yorumlandı. Araştırmada verilen bilgi-lerin ana kaynağı, Osmanlı belgeleri ve gazeteler olmuştur.

THE BOYCOTT AGAINST THE GREEK GOODS IN THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE

Abstract

The opening of Crete National Parliament in the name of Greece's King in April 1910 caused serious protests by people living in Ottoman vilayats. These protests resulted in the boycott of Greek goods. In this article initially a short story of the Crete Question is given. Three things are dealt with: firstly the places and the ways in which the boycott was put into effect, secondly the Ottoman Government's approach to the boycott and finally the objection raised by European states. In discussing these points, the documents acquired from the Ottoman Archives and newspapers provided the main source of information. The effects and results of the boycott are studied and discussed in the conclusion.
