Abstract
Geçmişe dönük edebî araştırmalarda, özellikle metin çalışmalarında sıkça karşılaşılan sorunlardan biri eserlerin ne zaman telif edildiği konusudur. Elde bulunan eserlerin bir kısmının telif yılı belli değildir. Buna mukabil bir kısmının da yazıldığı yıl ya eserin bizzat kendisinden ya da başka kaynaklardan öğrenilebilmektedir. Ancak bazı durumlarda bu bilgiler de tutarsız ve yanıltıcı olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, araştırmacıların karşılaştıkları söz konusu soruna bir örnek olarak Ahmed-i Rıdvân'ın İskendernâme adlı eserinin telif yılı üzerinde durulacaktır. İskendernâme'nin ne zaman yazıldığı konusu tartışılırken öncelikle eserle ilgili daha evvel yapılmış çalışmalarda telif yılına dair verilen bilgiler değerlendirilecektir. Ardından gerek tarihî olaylar gerekse müellifin eserinde bizzat zikrettiği tarihler dikkate alınarak bir sonuca ulaşılacaktır.

Abstract
For studies especially focused on texts it is a common problem to determine whenthe work was compiled. Compilation times of some of the classical works are notknown. While some of these dates can be derived from the work itself some of themcan be found out by analyzing other works written in and around same times.Nevertheless, this information can be either inconsistent or misleading. In this study asan example of this problem we are going to focus on the compilation date of Ahmed-iRıdvan’s work called İskendernâme. While discussing the topic of when theİskendernâme was written, firstly, the information given by previous works aboutcompilation time will be analyzed. Then taking into account both historical eventsand the dates given by the author himself in his work, a conclusion will be reached.
