Abstract

Yeni Osmanlılar’ın faaliyetleri, son dönem siyasi tarihimizin dönüm noktalarından birini teşkil eder. Bu grup, İmparatorlukta anayasalı ve parlamentolu bir yönetim kurmayı amaçlamakta ve bu yüzden Meşrutiyet taraftarı bir padişaha ihtiyaç duymaktaydı. Veliahd Murad ise, kendisini tahta taşıyabilecek bir destek aramaktaydı. Her iki taraf da, Meşrutiyet idaresi önünde başlıca engel olarak görülen Sultan Abdülaziz’e karşıydı. Böyle bir ortamda, Fikirtepe’deki V. Murad Köşkü’nde, veliahd ile Yeni Osmanlılar ve üst düzey bürokratlar arasında gizli toplantılar yapılmıştır. Makale, söz konusu toplantıları, devrin siyasi atmosferi ışığında incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.

THE FIKIRTEPE KIOSK OF MURAD V IN RELATIONS WITH MURAD THE VELIAHD AND THE YOUNG OTTOMANS

Abstract

The activities of the Young Ottomans hold one of the turning points of the lateOttoman political history. This group intended to have a parliamentary systemwith a constitution and therefore needed a Sultan with the same perspectives. Onthe other hand, Murad the Veliahd needed a support to ascend him to the throne.The both sides were against the Sultan Abdulaziz as an obstacle to theMesrutiyet system. Secret meetings were held at the Kiosk of Murad V inFikirtepe with the attendance of the Veliahd, the new Ottomans, and highranking officials. Therefore this article deals with these meetings and analyzeswithin the political atmosphere of the period.
