A Rare Skin Lesion in Children: Erythema Nodosum

Abstract

Erythema nodosum (EN) is painful, red, symmetric hot nodules which formed usually below the knee, front faces of the leg. EN is rare in children and has been associated with various infections, sarcoidosis, rheumotological diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases. In this paper, a case pf poststreptococal erythema nodosum is reported.

Çocuklarda Nadir Görülen Bir Deri Lezyonu Eritema Nodozum

Öz

Eritema Nodozum (EN) subkutan yağ dokusunda meydana gelen inflamasyon sonucu oluşan sıklıkla tibianın ön yüzüne yerleşen bilateral ağrılı, hassas ve ülsere olmayan nodüllerle karakterizedir. Genellikle erişkinlerde görülen EN, çocuklarda oldukça nadir bildirilmektedir. Etyolojisinde başta streptokokal farenjit, tüberküloz gibi enfeksiyonlar yer almakla birlikte sarkoidoz, inflamatuvar barsak hastalıkları ve kollajen doku hastalıkları da EN sebep olmaktadır. Bu olgu sunumunda çocuk acil servisine ateş, boğaz ağrısı ve eritema nodozum lezyonları ile başvuran bir hasta sunulmuştur.
