The light spectrum is obtained by ordering the light rays according to their frequencies or wavelengths. The visible light that can be detected by the human eye is located in the middle of this spectrum. Light plays an important role in human physiology and psychology as well as having important effects on the life of all living things in nature. The phenomenon of light is a multidisciplinary approach. It is directly related to circadian rhythm and eye health. The brain that regulates the circadian rhythm in our brain is a supraciazmatic nucleus, which is found in the hypothalamus as a double structure. This mechanism controls the physiological functioning of the organism in harmony with the external environment and the continuation of rhythmic functions in different conditions. The most important factor that regulates rhythm is light. Other regulators are social and physical activities. Wrong lighting deteriorates circadian rhythm and has a negative effect on eye health. Good lighting increases the visual efficiency of our eyes. Light pollution occurs when the light is not in the right place or in excess and causes serious damage to the environment. In conclusion, in this review, the negative or positive effects of light on the living beings are tried to be studied by focusing on the phenomenon of light.
