Sağlık Yönetimi Öğrencilerinin “Akılcı Kullanım” Kavramına Yönelik Bilişsel Yapılarının Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, sağlık yönetimi öğrencilerinin "akılcı kullanım" kavramına yönelik bilişsel yapılarını incelemektedir. Akılcı kullanım, sağlık hizmetlerinin etkinliğini artırarak maliyetleri düşüren ve hasta güvenliğini sağlayan bir yaklaşımdır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) tarafından akılcı ilaç kullanımı, hastaların ihtiyaçlarına uygun ilaçları doğru dozda ve en düşük maliyetle almasını sağlayan bir süreç olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ancak, akılcı kullanım yalnızca ilaçlarla sınırlı olmayıp sağlık sisteminin tüm bileşenlerini kapsayan bütüncül bir yaklaşımdır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Üniversitesi Sağlık Yönetimi Bölümünde öğenim görmekte olan 115 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuş olup evrenin tamamına ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini bu doğrultuda çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 80 öğrenci oluşturmuştur ve bu 80 öğrenciye Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi (KİT) uygulanmıştır. İçerik analizi sonucunda öğrencilerin "akılcı kullanım" kavramını genellikle ilaç kullanımıyla ilişkilendirdiği, ancak kavramın sağlık hizmetleri yönetimiyle bağlantısı konusunda eksiklikler taşıdığı tespit edilmiştir. Kavramın tasarruf, verimlilik ve etkililik gibi unsurlarla ilişkilendirildiği, ancak sağlık hizmet planlaması ve hasta güvenliği gibi boyutlarının yeterince ele alınmadığı görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, sağlık yönetimi eğitiminin daha kapsamlı hale getirilerek akılcı kullanım kavramının geniş bir perspektiften ele alınması gerektiği vurgulanmaktadır. Öğrencilere saha deneyimi kazandırmak, farklı disiplinlerle iş birliği yapmak ve eğitim müfredatını genişletmek, akılcı kullanım farkındalığını artırmada önemli adımlardır.

Evaluation of the Cognitive Structures of Healthcare Management Students Regarding the Concept of “Rational Use”

Abstract

This study examines the cognitive structures of healthcare management students regarding the concept of "rational use." Rational use enhances the efficiency of healthcare services, reduces costs, and ensures patient safety. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines rational drug use as the process of ensuring that patients receive appropriate medications in the correct dosage and at the lowest cost. However, rational use is not limited to pharmaceuticals; it is a holistic approach encompassing all components of the healthcare system. The study population consists of 115 fourth-year students enrolled in the Healthcare Management Department at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, with an attempt to reach the entire population. The sample includes 80 students who voluntarily participated, and they were administered the Word Association Test (WAT). Content analysis revealed that students predominantly associate "rational use" with medication use, indicating a lack of understanding regarding its connection to healthcare management. While the concept was linked to cost-saving, efficiency, and effectiveness, aspects such as healthcare service planning and patient safety were insufficiently addressed. The findings highlight the need for a more comprehensive healthcare management curriculum that provides a broader perspective on rational use. Enhancing field experience, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and expanding the curriculum are essential steps in increasing awareness of rational use.
