TODAY'S ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTION AND ITS SIMILARITY WITH 15TH CENTURY ART PRODUCTION

Year 2025, Volume: 9 Issue: 3, 181 - 199, 17.10.2025

Abstract

Architecture and art both aim to persuade people by affecting them on an emotional and intellectual level, but they work in different ways. In architecture, credibility is generally related to functionality, aesthetics, and structural durability. The usability and aesthetic appeal of a structure increases its credibility. In addition, the fit of the structure with its cultural and social context is also an important factor. Art focuses on creating an emotional impact and ensuring that the viewer connects with the work. The aesthetic value and depth of meaning of the work help the viewer to embrace the work. Art affects the viewer and convinces them that the work is “real.” Architecture and art offer deep meaning to the viewer by utilizing aesthetics and human emotions. While architecture combines art with functionality, art seeks meaning by evoking emotional responses in the viewer. Both create credibility and persuasion by appealing to people’s inner worlds. In the light of this, this article addresses the similarities between 15th century art production and contemporary architectural production.

GÜNÜMÜZÜN MİMARİ ÜRETİMİ VE 15. YÜZYIL SANAT ÜRETİMİYLE BENZERLİĞİ

Year 2025, Volume: 9 Issue: 3, 181 - 199, 17.10.2025
