Çocukluk çağında metabolik sendrom: güncel durum

Öz

Çocukluk ça¤›nda fliflmanl›k s›kl›¤›ndaki art›fla koflut olarak insülin direnci/metabolik sendrom ve tip 2 diyabet s›kl›¤› da artmaktad›r. Metabolik sendrom ilk kez eriflkinlerde tan›mlanmas›na ra¤men son y›llarda çocuklarda da s›kl›¤›n›n artt›¤› bildirilmektedir. Bu araflt›rmalar temelinde çocuklardaki metabolik sendrom için de tan› ölçütleri gelifltirilmektedir. Eriflkinlerde oldu¤u gibi çocuklarda da fliflmanl›k metabolik sendrom sürecinde insülin direnci anahtar rol oynamaktad›r ve çocuklarda insülin direncinin de¤erlendirilmesi konusunda güçlükler vard›r. Bu yaz›da son araflt›rmalar›n ›fl›¤›nda çocukluk ça¤›nda metabolik sendrom tan› ölçütleri, insülin direncinin de¤erlendirilmesi ve ülkemizdeki durum gözden geçirilmifltir.
