Abstract

Summary Aim: To evaluate ldquo;Advanced Life Support Courses in Children rdquo; Çocuklarda İleri Yaşam Desteği ÇİLYAD which were carried out in Mersin between 2004 2008 and to reconstitute the courses more profitably Material and Method: The data about seven courses were evaluated retrospectively The results of pretraining and posttraining tests were compared p lt;0 05 value was accepted as significant Results: 150 practitioners joined the courses When the pretraining and posttraining test results were compared the posttraining test results were significantly higher than the pretraining results p lt;0 001 While the data of the eight topics available in the course content were evaluated separately the posttraining test results were found to be statistically better than the pretest results in every topic p lt;0 05 Conclusions: It was determined that the knowledge of the doctors about pediatric advanced life support were deficient before joining the courses The increased success rate after the training is showing the efficiency the courses This situation is putting forward the necessity of proliferation of these courses Long term evaluations should be done to determine the duration of effectiveness and updating of the courses Turk Arch Ped 2010; 45: 268 71 Key words: Child advanced life support resuscitation

Özet Amaç: Mersin ilinde 2004 2008 yılları arasında çocuk sağlığı ile ilgili doktorlara uygulanan ldquo;Çocuklarda İleri Yaşam Desteği ÇİLYAD rdquo; kurslarının değerlendirilerek daha verimli bir şekilde yapılandırılmasını sağlamak Gereç ve Yöntem: Yedi kursa ait veriler geriye dönük olarak incelendi Eğitim öncesi ve sonrasında katılımcılara uygulanan test sınavı sonuçları karşılaştırıldı İstatistiksel olarak p lt;0 05 önemli kabul edildi Bulgular: Kurslara 150 pratisyen hekim katıldı Eğitim öncesi ve sonrası sonuçlar karşılaştırıldığında kurs sonrası değerler kurs öncesi değerlere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek idi p lt;0 001 Kurs içeriğindeki sekiz konuya ait veriler ise ayrıca incelendiğinde her konu için kurs sonrası değerler kurs öncesi değerlere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu p lt;0 05 Çıkarımlar: Kurslara katılan hekimlerin kurs öncesindeki bilgilerinin çocuklara ileri yaşam desteği sağlamada yetersiz olduğu saptanmıştır Kurs sonrasında ulaşılan başarı kursun verimliliğini göstermektedir Bu durum ÇİLYAD kurslarının yaygınlaştırılması gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır Uzak dönem değerlendirmeleri yapılarak kurs etkinliğinin ne süreyle devam ettiği saptanmalı ve güncelleme kursları yapılmalıdır Türk Ped Arş 2010; 45: 268 71 Anahtar sözcükler: Çocuk ileri yaşam desteği yeniden canlandırma
