Abstract
Abdominoscrotal hydrocele is a very rare entity in infancy and infrequently reported in the literature The etiopathogenesis of abdominoscrotal hydrocale in children is not clear Symptoms are often poor and non specific Sonography plays an important role in the differentition of the mass Total excision is necessary to obtain permanent cure Our patient was a 45 day old boy who had presented with right hydrocele since birth Palpation revealed a right abdominal cystic mass An ultrasound ultrasonographic examination of the pelvis and abdomen showed a 5cm cystic mass which related to inguinoscrotal hydrocele like hourglasses A hydrocelectomy was performed The etiopathogenesis and diagnosis of abdominoscrotal hydroceles are discussed Key words: Abdominoscrotal Hydrocele Cyst Of Nuck Canal
