Abstract
Paediatric urology has been revolutionized by the advent of prenatal ultrasound diagnosis Congenital urinary tract anomalies which previously presented with symptoms or complications in childhood are now being detected before birth on an ever increasing scale This allows for a thorough diagnostic evaluation and treatment if necessary before complications In some cases it has even enabled treatment in utero However there are some dangers finding hydronephrosis in the fetus may encourage treatment of an abnormal appearing kidney that might otherwise have remained asymptomatic A protocol for management requires neonatal evaluation and careful consideration of the underlying pathophysiology Key words: Prenatal Ultrasound Congenital Uropathy Hydronephrosis
