Multiple myeloma of the sphenoid sinüs: a case report

Abstract

Plasma celi neoplasms of the head and neck region can be extramedullary plasmacytoma of the bone, solitary plasmacytoma of the bone, and local manifes- tations of multiple myeloma. A 70-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with diplopia of four-day history. Magnetic resonance imaging showed soft tissue in the sphenoid sinüs. Endoscopic biopsy was taken from the sphenoid sinüs, which revealed multiple myeloma. Despite medical therapy for multi­ ple myeloma, the patient died after a year.

Sfenoid sinüs multipl miyelomu: Olgu sunumu

Abstract

Baş-boyun bölgesi plazma hücreli neoplazmları ke- miğin ekstramedüller plazmositomu, kemiğin soliter plazmositomu veya multipl miyelomun lokal tutulu- mu olabilir. Dört gündür çift görme yakınmasıyla baş- vuran 70 yaşında erkek hasta kliniğimizde değerlen- dirildi. Hastanın manyetik rezonans görüntülemesin- de sfenoid sinüste yumuşak doku kitlesi saptandı. Biyopsi sonucu multipl miyelom tanısı kondu. Multip- le miyeloma yönelik tıbbi tedavi uygulanan hasta bir yıl sonra kaybedildi
