Atopic eruption of pregnancy: A report of 2 cases

Abstract

Pregnancy specific dermatoses are a group of pruritic disorders that are solely seen in pregnancy and the postpartum period. Atopic eruption of pregnancy is the most frequently seen pregnancy specific dermatosis and it usually seen in the second trimester. It usually responds well to the treatment and there is no risk for the fetal development. The disease can recur in the following pregnancies. Patients may have history of atopy, asthma or allergic rhinitis. It is diagnosed after exclusion of other specific pregnancy dermatoses and with the help of history, physical examination, laboratory investigation and biopsy with histopathologic examination. In this case report, we presented two patients with widespread erythematous eruptions and severe pruritus, who were in the 18. and 24. gestational weeks. The diagnosis of atopic eruption of pregnancy was made by the history, physical and dermatological examinations, laboratory findings, and biopsy. The patients responded quickly to the treatment.

Gebeliğin atopik erüpsiyonu: 2 olgunun sunumu

Abstract

Gebeliğe özgü dermatozlar gebelik ve postpartum dönemde görülen spesifik bir grup kaşıntılı hastalıklardır. Gebeliğin atopik erüpsiyonu en sık görülen gebeliğe özgü dermatozdur ve sıklıkla ikinci trimesterde ortaya çıkar. Genellikle tedaviye iyi yanıtı verir ve fetal risk oluşturmaz. Ancak sonraki gebeliklerde tekrarlayabilir. Hastalarda öncesinde atopi, astım, alerjik rinit gibi hastalıklar bulunabilir. Tanısı diğer gebelik dermatozlarının dışlanması ve klinik muayene, öykü ve laboratuvar incelemeleri ile konur. Biyopsi çoğunlukla yol gösterici değildir. Biz bu olgu sunumunda, tüm vücutta yaygın kızarıklık, döküntü ve şiddetli kaşıntı şikayetiyle başvuran, 18. ve 24. gebelik haftasında olan iki hastamızı sunduk. Gebeliğin atopik dermatiti tanısını öykü, fizik muayene, laboratuvar incelemesi, biyopsi ve histopatolojik inceleme yardımıyla koyduk. Hastalar tedaviye hızlı bir yanıt vermiştir.
