ntraoperatif patolojik konsültasyon (frozen inceleme) h›zl› bir
literatürde di¤er cerrahi branfllardaki kadar yer almam›flt›r. Jinekoloji
Intraoperative pathologic consultation (frozen section analysis) is
a rapid pathologic diagnostic method. This method is widely used in
clinical practice but it has not been extensively evaluated in gynecologic
literature as it has been for other surgical disciplines. For gynecologic
practice, frozen section analysis is performed mostly for ovarian
tumors (36%). Endometrial, cervical and vulvar tumors/lesions are
the other pathologies in which frozen section analysis could be valuable.
In this review, general concepts for frozen section analysis regarding
genital tumors will be presented and controversial issues will be
discussed.
