Substance addiction is a process that includes a multi-dimensional and complex relationship. Nowadays, social policy implementations are needed in order to fight against the increasingly widespread substance use and addiction among young people, especially high school students, and even among children. In this sense, school social services and practices are prominent social policy applications. Therefore, the aim of this study is trying to determine the importance of school social work as a social policy implementation against substance addiction. As the adolescents with substance use problem, may have anti-social personality, be a slave to addictions bio-psycho-social and economically, tend to commit crimes in order to find substance, pull his schoolmates into bad habits. Given all this framework, school social work as a social policy implementation against substance addiction emerges as a practice area of the social work that needs to be addressed with special attention. Therefore, the aim of this study is to put forward the importance of school social work as a social policy implementation against substance addiction. Thus, the current problems and needs will be identified and the solutions could be provided. Especially recent developments demonstrate the necessity of these policies, practices and services. In conclusion, it is obvious that school social work practices in the process of struggle with substance addiction and social rehabilitation processes is necessary in Turkey. Therefore, this paper examines the importance and necessity of school social work as a social policy implementation to fight against substance addiction.
