Participation of Children and Young People in Social Work Institutions

Abstract

The Word “participation” and its content has been rediscovered and
re-identified by the  development of participatory
democracy and the redesign of the concept of citizenship. Citizens’
participation to     decision making
processes from planning to implementation has become more important in order to
ensure the sustainability of democracy and to fulfill the concept of modern
citizenship. Participation in social work                institutions
that provide services for children and young people   is determined as the focus of this article. Client               participation to administrative processes and their being effective in
decision making mechanisms in social work  institutions
are necessary and also difficult due to         the natüre of the relationship.         The article aims to discuss the changing               child and youth paradigm and the
participation of children and young people in social work institutions in the frame
of modern citizenship and sustainability of democracy.

SOSYAL HİZMET KURULUŞLARINDA ÇOCUK VE GENÇLERİN KATILIMI

Abstract

Katılımcı demokrasi anlayışının  gelişmesiyle,
yurttaşlık ve katılım kavramı yeniden tasarlanmış ve tanımlanmıştır.          Demokrasinin sürdürebilirliğinin
sağlanması ve çağdaş yurttaşlık kavramının gereklerinin yerine getirilmesi
amacıyla     yurttaşların planlamadan,
uygulama ve  karar alma mekanizmalarına kadar        katılımı                sağlamanın önemi anlaşılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın         odağını                  çocuk ve gençlere
hizmet veren sosyal hizmet kuruluşlarında katılım konusu oluşturmaktadır.
Sosyal hizmet kuruluşlarından               hizmet  alanların yönetimsel süreçlere katılması               ve karar alma mekanizmalarında
etkin olması gerekli ancak bir o          kadar
da güçtür. Makale, çağdaş yurttaşlık ve demokrasinin sürdürülebilirliği çerçevesinde  değişen               çocukluk/gençlik
anlayışını ve sosyal hizmet kuruluşlarında çocuk ve gençlerin katılımı konusunu
tartışmayı      hedeflemektedir.
