A Comparison of the Content of Public and Private Hospitals’ Mission Statements

Year 2011, Volume: 22 Issue: 1, 49 - 62, 15.04.2011

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare the content of mission statements in both public and private hospital sectors. Content analysis was used to compare the mission statements of each sector. Three measures of “content” were employed: (1) identification of specific stakeholder groups; (2) inclusion of specific components; (3) achievement of four mission objectives. The results of this study indicate no significant differences in content between the mission statements of public hospitals and private hospitals. The results also showed that the hospitals’ mission statements fall short of meeting the content criteria suggested in the literature.

KAMU VE ÖZEL HASTANE MİSYON İFADELERİNİN İÇERİKLERİ BAKIMINDAN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI

Year 2011, Volume: 22 Issue: 1, 49 - 62, 15.04.2011
