An Assessment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorders in Relation to Socio-Demographic and Family Functions

Abstract

In this study, 70 male patients with Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder (PTSB) were investigated their sociodemographic features and
family functioning. We evaluated with the Social study form and the family
functioning measure. Three group were compared with each other. First group (n:
22) was diagnosed PTSD, but they have been Hving in same region. Third group
(n: 28) was control in same region. Three group matched as their ages and socio­demographic
features. There weren't significant differences between PTSD patients and other
two groups İn the family functioning measure (p>0.05). W e suggest that PTSD
haven’t specific family dysfunction.

POST TRAVMATİK STRES BOZUKLUĞUNUN (PTSB) SOSYO- DEMOGRAFİK VE AİLE İŞLEVLERİ YÖNÜNDEN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Post Travmatıc Stres Bozukluğunda sosyo-demografik
özellikler ve aile iş­levlerini araştırmak amacıyla 70 erkek hasta Sosyal
İnceleme Formu ve Aile Değerlendirme Ölçeği (ADÖ) kullanıla­rak
değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada üç grup karşılaştırılmıştır. Birinci Grup (No:
22) PTSB tanısı alan kişilerden; İkinci Grup (n: 20)
ilk grupla aynı koşulları ya­şamış fakat PTSB geliştirmemiş olan­lardan; Üçüncü
Grup (n: 28 ise diğerle­riyle aynı bölgede görev yapan, ancak çatışmaya
katılmamış kişilerden oluş­muştur. Grupların yaş ve sosyo-de- mografik
özellikler bakımından denk ol­duğu saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonun­da, PTSB
grubunun PTSB geliştirmeyen gruba ve çatışmaya girmeyen gruba gö­re ADÖ’den
anlamlı farklılık gösterme­diği (p>0.05) ve PTSB’na özgü aile işlev
bozukluğu olmadığı söylenebilir.
