The basis of Halit Femir and Feridun Akozan’s projects is the cooperation within the framework of the architectural atmosphere of the period and the architects/educators working together in the Academy. The cooperation culture in the architectural practice of the period allowed many partnerships and collective productions. The Femir-Akozan cooperation process between 1942 and 1954 also covered a wide range of productions, from various building typologies to different approaches in architecture and design practices. The partnership has many works in different contexts, such as housing, commercial and industrial structures, housing settlements, lighthouses, urban planning, and new design in the historical tissue. This study aims to examine the reflections of modern architecture on Bursa in the post-republic period through the cooperation of Halit Femir-Feridun Akozan, with data on the architectural practice culture of the period. While the architectural approaches of the Femir-Akozan and the cooperation process are discussed together, the focus is on İpekçilik Collective Company Weaving Factory, Selim Süter House and Bursa Market and Bazaar Buildings as case studies in different contexts and scales in Bursa. While these selected examples provide to analyze the design approach of the Femir-Akozan and to present the references to their period characteristics; in this article, the design approaches, and the urban, historical, and contextual characteristics of the buildings are explained through literature, archive, and field studies and oral interviews. In this regard, this paper is aimed to contribute to the literature of architects with limited knowledge and their works.
