This study examined the different types of Byzantine metalwork that are exhibited in Dokuz Eylul University’s Şükrü
Tül Collection of Antiquities. There is a lead seal; the bronze artworks include crosses, belt buckles, stamp, and ring. This
study discusses these objects and their functions in the Byzantine world, their general features and chronological changes
and assesses them by comparing their equivalents. Dating suggestions for some of these donated artworks with unknown
provenance were offered by their close equivalents. As concrete documents regarding Byzantine religious and daily life,
these objects, which are frequently encountered in museums and private collections as well as in the Byzantine layer of
archeological sites, facilitate understanding the lifestyle, culture, and habits of the Byzantines
