Healthy Life and Role of Nursing in the Control of Body Weight

Abstract

The excess weight and obesity is a chronic disease with rapidly growing prevalence in developed and developing countries, and imposes a huge financial burden on the economies countries. According to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, 30% of the world population suffers from overweight and obesity, and the number of overweight and obese individuals has risen to 2.1 billion from 857 million in the last three decades. In recent years, it has been accepted that measures for overweight and obesity should be taken and treated. At this point, helping individuals to acquire healthy lifestyle behaviors plays a key role. Nurses, who are in a close relationship with all segments of society, have an important role and responsibilities in helping people to acquire positive behaviors

This is a refereed journal, which is published in printed and electronic forms. It aims at achieving free knowledge to the related national and international organizations and individuals.

This journal is published annually three times (in April, August and December).

The publication language of the journal is Turkish and English.
