İnternet Tabanlı Veri Kullanımıyla Yerleşim Alanlarının Modellenmesi: Çiftlikköy Kampüsü Örneği

şehir modeli temel olarak şehrin dijital platformda gerçeğe yakın bir modeli
olarak tanımlanabilir. Son yıllarda teknolojinin ilerlemesiyle birlikte 3B
şehir modelleri afet yönetimi, mekansal veri altyapılarının ve belediye imar
planlarının oluşturulması gibi birçok alanda kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. 3B
şehir modellerinin oluşturulmasında klasik tekniklerin yanında modern teknikler
de kullanılmaktadır. Ancak klasik yöntemde modellenecek şehre ilişkin çok
sayıda bina ve model bulunduğu için zaman ve maliyet açısından olumsuzluklar
yaşanmaktadır. ESRI şirketi tarafından geliştirilen CityEngine yazılımı, uzun
ve zahmetli olan modelleme işleminin çok daha hızlı bir şekilde yapılmasını
mümkün kılmayı başarmıştır. Ayrıca yazılımda oluşturulan 3B modellere; binalara
ilişkin orjinal dokuların kaplanması sayesinde modelin gerçek görünümü elde
edilebilmektedir. Yüksek hassasiyet gerektirmeyen büyük alanların 3B modellenmesinde
herhangi bir arazi çalışması gerektirmeden, yalnızca internet tabanlı veriler
kullanılarak modelleme yapmak mümkündür. Bu çalışmada Mersin Üniversitesi
Çiftlikköy Kampüsü’nün 3B modellemesi yapılmıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan
görüntülerin tamamı internet ortamından elde edilmiş ve CityEngine yazılımı
yardımıyla kampüs alanının 3B modeli oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmanın amacı yalnızca
internet üzerinden elde edilen ücretsiz verilerle herhangi bir yerin 3B
modelinin oluşturulabileceğini ve bu modelin farklı amaçlardaki çalışmalara
altlık oluşturabileceğini belirtmektir.
