Abstract
ÖZET
Küreselleşme olgusunun hız kazanması sonucu artan rekabet ortamı ile teknolojik, siyasal ve
sosyo ekonomik değişimler gerçekleşmiş ve diğer sektörlerde olduğu gibi turizm sektöründe
tüketim kalıpları da değişmektedir. Bu değişimler sonucunda hem gelişmemiş hem de
gelişmekte olan ülkelerin küresel turizm pazarından aldıkları payı yükseltebilmeleri, alternatif
turizm çeşitlerini geliştirebilmeleri ile mümkün olabilmektedir. Bu bağlamda ülkemizde
gelişmekte olan bölgelerdeki turizm sektörünün gelişimde stratejik öneme sahip olan
alternatif turizm çeşitlerinden biri de inanç turizmdir. İnanç turizm, gelişmemiş veya
gelişmekte olan yörelerdeki diğer turizm türleri ile de entegre olabilen bir turizm türüdür.
Midyat ilçesi inanç turizmi açısından birçok önemli değere sahip olduğundan dolayı bu
çalışmanın amacı da Midyat ilçesinde gerçekleştirilen inanç turizmi faaliyetlerinin yerel
kalkınma üzerindeki öneminin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden
mülakat tekniği ile yürütülmüş ve 2014 yılında 31 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilen “İnanç
turizminin yerel kalkınmadaki önemi: Midyat örneği” isimli tez sonuçlarından 31 katılımcının
görüşleri alıntı yapılmıştır. Daha sonra aynı mülakat soruları Haziran 2021 tarihinde 10
katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bunun sonucunda 7 yılda inanç turizmi kapsamındaki
gelişmeler de ele alınmaktadır.
ABSTRACT
With the increasing competitive environment as a result of the acceleration of the globalization phenomenon, technological, political and socio-economic changes have taken place and consumption patterns have changed in the tourism sector as in other sectors. As a result of these changes, it is possible for both underdeveloped and developing countries to increase their share in the global tourism market by developing alternative tourism types. In this context, faith tourism is one of the alternative tourism types that has strategic importance in the development of the tourism sector in the developing regions of our country. Faith tourism is a type of tourism that can be integrated with other types of tourism in underdeveloped or developing regions. Since Midyat has many important values in terms of faith tourism, the aim of this study is to determine the importance of faith tourism activities carried out in Midyat on local development. The research was carried out with the interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, and the opinions of 31 participants were quoted from the results of the thesis titled "The importance of faith tourism in local development: The case of Midyat", which was carried out with 31 participants in 2014. Later, the same interview questions were conducted with 10 participants in June 2021. As a result, developments within the scope of faith tourism in a 7 years period are also discussed.
