The studies for the disposal of a large amount of wastewater treatment sludges from a wastewater treatment plant of a high-level treatment plant for the modernization of the Federal Wastewater Treatment Plant of Chemnitz-Heinersdorf in Germany, and its capacity are included.
The detailed properties of these sludges from the treatment were examined and various sludges formed at the treatment plant stages were mixed one by one and in certain proportions and examined in a mesophilic anaerobic model facility. In the model facility, the properties of the gas and digestion sludge that have come out without digestion have been examined.
A large amount of primary sludge coming out of the treatment plant and a large purification plant made for the experiment were subjected to an anaerobic mesophilic digestion test with a small amount of excessive sludge (biologically active sludge) obtained as a result of nitrogen and phosphorus elimination.
It has been experimentally determined that in the facility where biological nutrient removal (N, P elimination) is performed, it has undergone a significant organic stabilization as opposed to those previously given in the literature. In parallel with these studies, capillary flow times (CST-Tests) were investigated with the help of numerous experiments on sludge types before and after digestion.
Biological sludge mixed with premier sludge gave the best result in dewatering tests.
