Mandibula sağ tarafında hızla büyüyen büyük bir kitle nedeniyle başvuran 13 yaşında kız çocuğunda histopatolojik bulgularla klinik seyir ve radyolojik görüntülerin korelasyonu ile “Jüvenil (agresif) ossifiye edici fibrom” tanısı koyuldu. Tedavide intraoral alveolar sulkus ve sağ submandibuler insizyonla girilerek periferal ostektomi ve küretaj yapıldı. Ameliyat sonrası 1 yıllık takipte rekürrens saptanmadı. Bu makalede çocukluk ve adolesan dönemde hızlı büyüyen mandibular kitlelere yaklaşım tartışıldı ve nadir görülen Jüvenil ossifiye edici fibromlarla ilgili literatür gözden geçirildi
A 13-year-old girl with a rapidly growing giant mass on her right mandibular region was diagnosed as “Juvenile (agressive) ossifying fibroma”. These lesions are rarely seen and the diagnosis of the lesion was made integration of the histopathology with history and clinical course of disease and radiographic appearance. By using intraoral alveolar sulcus and right submandibular incisions, a curettage plus peripheral ostectomy was performed for the treatment of the lesion. There was no recurrence for a year followup after the surgery. Management of the rapidly growing mandibular masses in the paediatric and adolescent patient was disscussed and the literatures on the juvenile (agressive) ossifying fibroma were reviewed in this article.
