CHANGING SOUNDSCAPE IN THE POST MACHINES ERA

Abstract

The social structure having started to change in the beginning of eighteenth century with the impact of Industrial Revolution has irrevocably transformed the world in which people lived. The sounds of machines inexistent in the world before, started to be heard and new sounds have been added to the soundscape which we live in. Since the length of this study is not sufficient for a detailed analyses, the soundscape changing since the machines era is aimed to concretize within the framework of what the changes have been, by providing multidiciplinary examples. In order to concretize the subject when elaborating on the process, concepts utilised from are sound, relationship of sound and space, soundscape, noise and background sounds

Makineler Çağı Sonrası İşitsel Manzara

Abstract

Sanayi devriminin etkisi ile on sekizinci yüzyılın başlarında değişmeye başlayan toplumsal yapı, insanların içinde yaşadığı dünyayı geri dönülemeyecek şekilde değiştirmiştir. Daha önce dünyada var olmayan makinelerin sesi duyulmaya başlanmış, içinde yaşadığımız işitsel manzaraya her geçen gün yeni sesler eklenmiştir. Bu çalışmada makineler çağında başlayarak değişen işitsel manzarayı, böylesine kısa bir çalışmada ayrıntılı olarak irdelemek mümkün olmadığı için, konuyu farklı disiplinlerden başlıklar altında örnekler vererek, nelerin değiştiği ana hatlarıyla somutlaştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. Süreci irdelerken konuyu somutlamak için ses, ses mekan ilişkisi, işitsel manzara, gürültü ve arka plan sesleri kavramlarından faydalanılmıştır
