This study was conducted to determine the swarming tendency, survival rate, wintering ability and comb build efficiency of Caucasian (KxK), Muğla (MxM) bees (A. mellifera L.) and their reciprocal crosses (KxM and MxK) The swarming tendency of the KxK, MxM, KxM and MxK genotypes were found to be 10 %, 30 %, 10 % and 20 %, the survival rates 90.90 %, 100 %, 100 % and 90.90 %, the wintering ability % 81.96, % 86.02, % 72.05 and % 91.66 respectively and comb building efficiency was found to be significantly (P<0.01)difference but there was no significant (P>0.05) difference among the the genotypes concerning swarming tendency, survival rates and wintering ability.

Bu çalışma aynı yaşta ana arıya sahip saf ve melez balarısı (Apis mellifera L.) kolonilerinin oğul eğilimi, petek işleme etkinliği, yaşama gücü ve kışlama yeteneklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmaya alınan genotiplerin (KxK, MxM, KxM ve MxK) oğul eğilimlerinin sırasıyla; % 10, % 30, % 10 ve % 20; yaşama güçlerinin % 90.90, % 100, % 100 ve % 90.90; kışlama yeteneklerinin % 81.96, % 86.02, % 72.05, % 91.66 ve petek işleme etkinliklerinin de 13.50±2.11, 28.50±1.88, 13.75±0.99 ve 26.55±1.64 adet/koloni/yıl olduğu belirlenmiştir. Petek işleme etkinliği yönünden genotipler arasındaki farklılıklar önemli (P0.05) bulunmuştur
