Savunma mekanizmaları ölçeğinin geliştirilmesi: Psikometrik değerleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, savunma mekanizmaları ölçeğini (SMÖ) geliştirmek, geçerlilik ve güvenirlik analizlerini incelemektir. Bu araştırma, iki ayrı çalışma şeklinde yürütülmüştür. Çalışma 1’in örneklemini 228 [Yaşranj = 18-62, YaşOrt=34.58, YaşSs =11.54] gönüllü birey oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma 2’ye 235 [Yaşranj = 19-50, YaşOrt=24.84, YaşSs =4.95] gönüllü birey katılım göstermiştir. Çalışma 1’de öncelikle savunma mekanizmaları ölçeğinin (SMÖ) madde analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bunun için %27’lik alt-üst grup ortalamalarının farkına dayalı bağımsız örneklem t-testi yapılmıştır. SMÖ’nün madde analizi için diğer bir kanıt olan madde toplam test korelasyonu ise Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon katsayısı ile sınanmıştır. Bunlara ek olarak SMÖ’nün yapı geçerliği, açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) tekniği ile test edilmiştir. Çalışma 2’de SMÖ’nün yapı geçerliği için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) tercih edilmiştir. Ayrıca SMÖ’nün ölçüt bağıntılı geçerliliği, Kısa Semptom Envanteri ile ele alınmıştır. Son olarak ise SMÖ’nün güvenirlik analizleri, Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık katsayısı ile test-tekrar test yöntemleri ile bakılmıştır. Yapılan AFA bulgusunda SMÖ’nün öz değerleri 1.00’in üzerinde, toplam açıklanan varyansı %59.67, 10 maddelik ve iki alt faktörlü (bastırma ve bölme) yapısı elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca SMÖ’deki maddelerin faktör yükleri .58 ile .84 arasında değiştiği rapor edilmiştir. Tüm bunlara ek olarak DFA bulgusunda SMÖ’nün kabul edilebilir düzeyde uyum iyiliği indeksleri (χ2/sd=2.14, GFI= .93, NFI= .90, IFI=.94, CFI= .94, TLI= .93 ve RMSEA= .07) hesaplanmıştır.

Development of defense mechanisms scale: Psychometric values

Abstract

This study aims to develop the defense mechanisms scale (DMS) and to examine its validity and reliability. This research was conducted in two separate studies. The sample of Study 1 consisted of 228 [Agerange = 18-62, AgeMean=34.58, AgeSd=11.54] volunteer individuals. In Study 2, 235 [Agerange= 19-50, AgeMean=24.84, AgeSd=4.95] volunteer individuals participated. In Study 1, item analysis of the defense mechanisms scale (DMS) was first conducted. For this, an independent sample t-test was performed based on the difference between the 27% lower and upper group means. The item-total test correlation, another evidence for the item analysis of the DMS, was tested with the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Moreover, the DMS's construct validity was investigated using the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) technique. In Study 2, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was preferred for the construct validity of the DMS. Also, the criterion-related validity of the DMS was examined with the Brief Symptom Inventory. Finally, the reliability analyses of the DMS were analyzed using Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient and test-retest methods. According to the EFA findings, a 10-item structure with two sub-factors (repression and splitting) was obtained with eigenvalues above 1.00 and a total explained variance of 59.67%. In addition, it was reported that the factor loadings of the items in the DMS ranged between .58 and .84. In addition to all these, acceptable goodness of fit indices (χ2/df=2.14, GFI= .93, NFI= .90, IFI=.94, CFI= .94, TLI= .93 and RMSEA= .07) were calculated in the CFA findings.
