Quality Control Tests Applied to Fancy Yarns

Abstract

In recent years, thanks to allow the unlimited design possibilities for the development of high added-value products and unique product design the use of fancy yarns has increased significantly. It is seen that everyday new types of yarns are included to this group of yarn which has an important place in continuously changing fashion phenomenon. Before these yarns are formed into textile surface, they need to be subjected to physical and visual quality control tests and new test type should be designed for every type of fancy yarn. In this study, it is aimed at describing the standard and specific test methods applied to these fancy yarns (slub, chenille, flock yarn) and at contributing to the literature in which there is a lack of knowledge.
