The provision and availability of water which is one of the important elements of living life requires both great labor and cost. The planned and rational supply of water ensures that are continuous and high the benefits expected from agriculture. In order to obtain sufficient and high quality products in agricultural countries, sufficient quantity is needed for agricultural purposes irrigation water. In Turkey, the changes occurring in climate parameters such as precipitation and temperature are adversely affect both crop yield and production and water resources and this situation requires the development of alternative irrigation strategies. In this study, increase and decrease of some climate parameters (precipitation and temperature) in Turkey to determine their water resources, crop yield and the interaction of agricultural water use, agricultural water use policies have been studied and the necessary assessments have been made and some solution suggestions are presented. In addition, the annual average temperature with the total annual precipitation of 2018 in Turkey was found to be over the average of 2001-2018 years with the influence of global warming.

Canlı yaşamının önemli unsurlarından olan suyun, temin edilmesi ve kullanılabilir duruma getirilebilmesi hem büyük emek hem de maliyet gerektirmektedir. Suyun planlı ve akılcı bir şekilde temini tarımdan beklenen faydanın sürekli ve yüksek düzeyde olmasını sağlamaktadır. Tarım ülkelerinde yeterli ve kaliteli ürün elde edilmesi için yeterli miktarda tarımsal amaçlı sulama suyuna ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Türkiye’de yağış ve sıcaklık gibi iklim parametrelerinde meydana gelen değişiklikler hem bitkisel verim ve üretimi hem de su kaynaklarını olumsuz etkilemekte ve bu durum alternatif sulama stratejilerinin geliştirilmesini gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de bazı iklim parametrelerinin (yağış ve sıcaklık) artış ve azalışının su kaynakları, bitkisel verimlilik ve tarımsal su kullanımı ile etkileşimini belirlemek amaçlı tarımsal su kullanım politikaları araştırılmış, gerekli değerlendirmeler yapılmış ve bazı çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur. Ayrıca, Türkiye’de küresel ısınmanın etkisiyle 2018 yılında yıllık toplam yağış ile yıllık ortalama sıcaklıkların 2001-2018 yılları ortalamasının üzerinde olduğu bulunmuştur.
