Abstract

Hypertrophic osteodystrophy, first reported in 1935, is a bone disease that occurs in young, rapidly growing dogs, affecting the metaphyseal region of long bones. This pathogenesis is uncertain, Weimaraner and Great Dane breed dogs are more common. The affected animals show clinical symptoms ranging from anorexia, pyrexia, lethargy, lameness and weight loss, while lesions are seen in the metaphyseal regions of the long bones, particularly distal radius-ulna and tibia. In the diagnosis of hypertrophic osteodystrophy disease, radiography, tomography and imaging tools such as histopathological examination is performed. In this study, information about clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of hypertrophic osteodystrophy will be given.

KÖPEKLERDE HİPERTROFİK OSTEODİSTROFİ
