“Philosophy Class”: An Interview with Özge Özdemir on Philosophy for Children

Abstract

This interview is conducted with Özge Özdemir who is the author of the book "Philosophy Classroom: Applications of Philosophy with Children Integrated into Primary School Curriculum" and mainly focuses on the thoughts of the author on the "Philosophy for Children" model, which she also actively teaches. Considering "Philosophy for Children" as a method and pedagogical model, the interview includes a discussion on the application areas of the model and the need for this model in Turkey and in the world while, in the meantime, offering an explanatory approach for how Philosophy for Children model should be practiced.

“Felsefe Sınıfı”: Özge Özdemir ile Çocuklar için Felsefe Üzerine Söyleşi

Abstract

Bu söyleşi, “Felsefe Sınıfı: İlkokul Öğretim Programıyla Bütünleştirilmiş Çocuklarla Felsefe Uygulamaları” kitabının yazarı Dr. Özge Özdemir ile yazarın aynı zamanda eğitmenliğini yaptığı “Çocuklar için Felsefe” modeli üzerine düşüncelerine odaklanmaktadır. “Çocuklar için Felsefe”yi bir yöntem ve pedagojik model olarak ele alan Özdemir’in çalışmalarından hareketle söz konusu modelin uygulama alanlarına, Türkiye’de ve dünyada söz konusu modele yönelik ihtiyaca ilişkin tartışmanın da yürütüldüğü söyleşi “Çocuklar için Felsefe” modeline ilişkin uygulamada gerçekleştirilmesi gereken adımlara ilişkin açıklayıcı bir yaklaşım sunuyor.
