The volume’s strength lies in its diverse theoretical inclusions, yet this diversity also underscores its primary weakness: the lack of a cohesive overarching theme and the inclusion of popular but perhaps less directly relevant articles. Despite these limitations, The Monster Theory Reader remains a significant contribution to the field, offering a foundational understanding of monster studies, though it may be complemented by more focused compilations for in-depth scholarly research.

2020 yılında Minnesota Üniversitesi Yayınları tarafından yayımlanan, Jeffrey Andrew Weinstock'un editörlüğünü yaptığı The Monster Theory Reader (Canavar Teorisi Okumaları), canavar çalışmaları alanında kapsamlı bir araştırma sunmaktadır. Bu derleme, psikanalitik, ekokritik ve postkolonyal perspektifler de dahil olmak üzere çeşitli teorik yaklaşımları içermekte ve canavarın esnekliğini ve çağdaş entelektüel söylemlerle olan ilişkisini vurgulamaktadır. Antoloji, bu alanda yeni olanlar için etkili bir giriş noktası sunarken, geniş kapsamı ve tematik tekrarları bazen odak kaybına yol açmaktadır.
