The Journal of Management Information Systems operates the publication process of scientific articles as a national peer-reviewed journal and continues its publication activities in line with the following principles:
- The journal is published biannually (June and December).
- It is published exclusively in electronic format.
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal are accepted in Turkish or English.
- The review and evaluation process of submitted manuscripts is conducted using the double-blind peer review method (preventing reviewers and authors from accessing each other’s identities).
- The journal adopts an Open Access publishing policy.
- No fees are charged for manuscript submission, evaluation, publication, or access to published articles. No payments are made to authors or reviewers for accepted manuscripts.
- The manuscript evaluation process is expected to take a maximum of 6–9 months for each article, depending on the reviewers’ evaluations.
- If a “revision” decision is made, authors are required to submit the revised version of their manuscript within 15 days. If the revisions are not submitted within the specified period, the editors reserve the right to reject the manuscript.
- Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
- For studies previously used as theses, presentations, or conference papers and submitted as articles to the journal, information regarding prior use must be provided as a footnote on the first page in accordance with the following conditions:
a) If the study has been published as an abstract paper, the title of the paper, the name of the event, and the date and location must be specified.
b) If the study is derived from a graduate thesis, the title of the thesis, the name of the supervisor, the university and institute, as well as the completion date and location must be stated.
c) If the study has been supported by a research institution or funding body, the name of the supporting organization, the project number, and the completion date must be indicated.
d) For studies partially presented or published under other conditions, the relevant event details must be clearly and distinctly stated. - Submitted manuscripts are evaluated before being sent to reviewers by considering the following criteria. Manuscripts deemed suitable for the review process are then forwarded to reviewers:
a) Compliance with the author guidelines
b) Conformity with the manuscript template in terms of formatting
c) Relevance to the aims and scope of the journal
d) Compliance with publication policies
e) Compliance with publication ethics
f) Scientific quality and originality - Each manuscript is evaluated by at least three reviewers, and as a prerequisite for acceptance, it must be deemed suitable for publication by at least two reviewers. Following the reviewers’ approvals, the Editor has the authority to make the final decision regarding whether the manuscript will be published.
- All authors submitting manuscripts to the journal have equal rights. No privilege is granted to any manuscript or author during the evaluation, acceptance, or publication processes. The publication order of accepted manuscripts is determined based on the date of acceptance. However, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make changes when deemed necessary.
- Before submission to the journal, the “Copyright Transfer Form” must be completed and signed by all authors and uploaded to the journal system.
- Manuscripts accepted for publication are published with all publication rights held by the Journal of Management Information Systems.
- All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to plagiarism screening processes (e.g., iThenticate). If plagiarism detected prior to publication exceeds 20% similarity for the entire manuscript or exceeds 5% from a single source, the manuscript is rejected without initiating the peer review process. If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be withdrawn, and an editorial note will be published to inform readers.
