INVESTIGATION ON THE EFFECT OF VOLUNTARY SIMPLE LIFESTYLE ON MENTAL WELL-BEING

Abstract

The main objective of this research is measuring the effect of voluntary simple lifestyle on mental well-being. The ancillary objective of the research is determining the differences in the effect of voluntary simple lifestyle on mental well-being based on gender and educational status. The data were acquired on a voluntary basis from 608 participants aged 18 and over by convenience sampling method in the study. The confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were implemented on the acquired data. Based on the research findings, individuals’ voluntary simple lifestyles have a significant and positive effect on their mental well-being. Also, at the same time, it was ascertained that there are differences in the effect of people’s voluntary simple lifestyle on mental well-being, according to gender and educational status.
