Analysing Üsküdar Employment Centre in the Context of Localisation of Central Employment Service

Abstract

Until the 21st century, there has been a considerable change in the expectations of societies from local governments. As a result of this, the services provided by local governments have diversified. It should be emphasised that this situation is a result of social development. The transfer of social policy services to local governments is one of the important discussion items of international and national social policy issues. In this study, the transfer of employment services, which are under the jurisdiction of the central government, to local governments in general and municipalities in particular, is examined. While conducting this examination, Üsküdar Employment Centre operating within Üsküdar Municipality was tried to be evaluated. Qualitative research on job and vocational counselling service, which is under the responsibility of İş-Kur regional office, is included. In this research, it was tried to measure the perception of the institution officials regarding the transfer of the relevant service to Üsküdar Employment Centre.
