THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SYSTEMATIC SOLDIERING AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT IN HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES
Abstract
People are inherently lazy and tend to not like working. Hence employees may end up engaging in soldiering behaviour. Soldiering occurs as a result of two factors. The first factor is natural laziness which is caused by natural instincts. In this case individuals tend to ignore their jobs and responsibilities. The second factor is more systematic and complex. In this case people deliberately tend to show a slowdown their input and work less than usual. Systematic soldiering is threatening situation for organizations both from the viewpoint of individual employees and the management. As systematic soldiering is widespread almost in all organizations, most management systems attempt to increase employees’ level of interest in their jobs.
The findings of this study shows that employees engage in soldiering behaviour, but it is neither systematic nor significant. The results of Correlation, Anova and Factor analysis shows that there is no relationship between systematic soldiering and organizational commitment. Keywords
