Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to examine the creativity levels of 5-6 year old children and to reveal the relationship between different variables and creativity levels. The study population in which the research screening model was used constituted the kindergartens and independent kindergartens of primary schools in the central districts of Konya and Ankara in the academic year 2014-2015. A total of 376 children study group consisting of 175 girls and 201 boys in the age group of 5-6 who were chosen through unbiased assignment from these schools constitute the study group. The ECCRS Early Childhood Creativity Scale was used as the data collection tool in the study. According to the findings, age, gender and number of siblings variables did not affect children 's creativity levels; Socio-economic level, mother's work, father's occupation, and mother's educational status. Based on these results, proposals have been made for research, education and teachers
